Step 1 Define Static
and Variable Fields.
The first step is to define your database fields. Click the Define Fields
Tab and then Click Add Static Field to add fields that will apply to all
cards. Fields can be Text, Images, or Barcodes. If using an image, you
browse to the location of the image to select it. You can set the
transparency level for all graphical elements, and set the stacking order of
the graphical elements. You can have as many fields as you need. There are
no restrictions. Then you define your Variable fields in the same manner. |

Help notes are always readily available
at the bottom of your EspressoID Screen.

Step 2 Drag Static and Variable Fields onto
the Card and set the Attributes
The second step is to Click the Design Template Tab and drag fields onto the
front and/or back of the card. Once you have placed the fields on the card
you can right click and set the properties such as text size and font,
transparency, and color. If you'd like to place a ghost image of the subject
photo on the card, drag 'photograph' onto the card twice, Size each photo
box, and right click the photo box you want to be the 'ghost' of the main
photo and set the transparency. To link fields such as the first and last
names, select the first item then hold shift and select the second item.
Once both are selected, drag them onto the card. If you selected last name
first, and then first name, this is how they will appear on the card, and a
comma will automatically be placed to separate the two names. No comma will
appear if first name is to appear first. The perspective of graphical
elements can not be distorted. Never again will you have photos are out of
proportion. |

Simply Drag Static and Variable Fields
onto the card, right click the fields once on the card and set the
attributes. Under the Template Tab you can set grid spacing to aid in laying
out the card. You can have an image as the card background and set the
transparency level for the image as shown above. You may have variable
fields that you want to enter information into (such as date of birth or
social security numbers) but you do not want to print. The data base allows
you to capture this information but not print it just by not dragging that
variable field onto the card. You still capture the information, it just
will not print. You can also export data from the database in a comma
delimited format. |
Step 3 Enter Data, Capture the Photo, and
Print.
The Third Step is to enter in data and capture the image. If you have a
ghost image of the subject it will automatically place the main photo and
ghost photo simultaneously. |

Printing the final card is easy, as there are built in
card templates for 3 PVC card sizes (CR80, CR90, and CR100) as well as 5
Teslin card sizes (Credit Card, Data Card, Military Card, Luggage Tag, and
Jumbo Card). Our convenient and waste free 1-up Teslin sheets make the
production of high quality cards easy. The templates are pre-defined in the
program.
You can even rearrange your database fields so that you enter in the data in
the most convenient order to you. The Database has no limits as to the
number of fields, card designs, or cards. Use different designs for
different departments. Use the same program to issue custom luggage tags and
issue Jumbo Cards for events. With EspressoID it's easy to also issue
Temporary Badges for Visitors and Contract Employees. You can also use the
powerful filtering tools to view only cards meeting the criteria you set in
the filter box.
